I only read books 1-10。 For books 11-13 I just watched the Netflix TV show。 It’s been many years since I started this series and I just didn’t think I would ever continue and finish reading it。 But I highly recommend both the books and the show。 Both are very good!

These were my favorite books growing up and, having recently re-read them for the first time in years, I was happy to find that much of the writing has held up very well even when read as an adult。 There are so many obscure references sprinkled throughout this series to literature and culture that I'm still not sure I caught every shout-out。 A really fun set of books to either read for the first time or discover all over again。 These were my favorite books growing up and, having recently re-read them for the first time in years, I was happy to find that much of the writing has held up very well even when read as an adult。 There are so many obscure references sprinkled throughout this series to literature and culture that I'm still not sure I caught every shout-out。 A really fun set of books to either read for the first time or discover all over again。 。。。more

I watched the series first and liked it so much that I decided to read the books and it was a good decision!! I love the way the writer is involved in the story and ofcourse his creativity :) I love the random examples and verses to Beatrice :,) I absolutely despise Count Olaf but his death was so sad :( It’s so cool that Violet, Klaus and Sunny each have their own thing they’re good at and i love Sunnys way of talking :)) (I also love how some phrases and words are described I LOVE IT SO MUCH!! I've read all 13 books in this series and I have to say that it's indeed one of the strangest weirdest books I've ever read。 For some reason this book was quite alienating, well for me as an reader but it was definitely an alienating experience for the Baudelairs which was probably reflected onto me as I was feeling it too。Anyways very strange book yes, but the author Lemony snicket is also very weird and I'm somehow intrigued by him, his other books which I read gave off similar isolating vibes I've read all 13 books in this series and I have to say that it's indeed one of the strangest weirdest books I've ever read。 For some reason this book was quite alienating, well for me as an reader but it was definitely an alienating experience for the Baudelairs which was probably reflected onto me as I was feeling it too。Anyways very strange book yes, but the author Lemony snicket is also very weird and I'm somehow intrigued by him, his other books which I read gave off similar isolating vibes that I can't explain and just like the 'A series Of Unfortunate Events' series it was pretty unique and strange。Now enough of me calling it out for its strangeness, did I enjoy this book?Yes I did, especially the first one but after every book i read I do have to admit it got quite frustrating due to the same ongoing pattern in every book across the series。The last book(book 13) was where it finally happened(if you read the book you know what I'm talking about) where the ending was different to all the other books in the series。It took 13 books for it to happen, what was Lemony Snicket thinking。。。 for some reason it's quite funny, no wonder it's called 'a series of unfortunate。。。' it took so long until Count Olaf was finally beaten! All due to his hideous disguises lol :)Even so, I was still excited to read the next book in the series after finishing each one, I was always curious to see what disguises Count Olaf would be displaying for the next book。Moreover it was a pretty emotional book, this book plays with your emotions like crazy!I don't really know what else to say without spoilling which I did do a little bit! So I'll end this review right here。 :) 。。。more

A classic middle-grade series any child can enjoy。

The action is not that intense because of the remoteness but the impact of the success it brings is all useful and similar to a real thing。

One day I will reread this series (again) and give out proper star ratings for each of the books。 But for now, I just recently realised how much of a travesty it is that I didn't have this series, which was and is so so important to me since my childhood, included on my Goodreads shelves。 So I'm fixing that。 One day I will reread this series (again) and give out proper star ratings for each of the books。 But for now, I just recently realised how much of a travesty it is that I didn't have this series, which was and is so so important to me since my childhood, included on my Goodreads shelves。 So I'm fixing that。 。。。more

This series of books is great for people who like fiction and mystery。 They are about 3 children whose parents died in a fire and were sent to their uncle's house since they have no close relatives, but he forms horrible plans because he wants their money, their wealthy parents left for them。 They move from relative to relative since he tracks them down and has plots to kill everyone。 This series of books is great for people who like fiction and mystery。 They are about 3 children whose parents died in a fire and were sent to their uncle's house since they have no close relatives, but he forms horrible plans because he wants their money, their wealthy parents left for them。 They move from relative to relative since he tracks them down and has plots to kill everyone。 。。。more

Good for children。 It uses some pretty good words。 Good for improving your vocabulary。 Though not that interesting because we know at the end of the day it is the same cruel world that does not change。 Should have listened to Lemony Snicket and left it while I had the chance。 Well, it was worth it。 It is every bit as unfortunate and tragic as the prologue says。 Read at your own conscience's risk。 Damm this OCD。 Good for children。 It uses some pretty good words。 Good for improving your vocabulary。 Though not that interesting because we know at the end of the day it is the same cruel world that does not change。 Should have listened to Lemony Snicket and left it while I had the chance。 Well, it was worth it。 It is every bit as unfortunate and tragic as the prologue says。 Read at your own conscience's risk。 Damm this OCD。 。。。more

Loved it。 Favourite child book series。 Will read to my kids in the future

There are thirteen books in the series。 There are thirteen chapters in each book。 EXCEPT for the thirteenth book, which has an extra chapter, hidden in the back after the book officially ends。 This singular chapter not only makes the entire series worth reading, it makes the complete wreck worth re-reading。

My grandmother bought me the entire series of books when I was still in grade school。 She saw that my love for reading was something to be nurtured so that we could share our affinity for books with one and other。 Unfortunately, I never finished the whole series but because it has such a sentimental place in my heart, I plan on continuing to read the remaining books even though I am well into adulthood now。

My favorite book series of all time。 The whole story - literally brilliant。 This was quite possibly the best plot I've ever seen, with it's mystery and suspense and sadness。 Lemony Snicket's author mind is otherworldly。 My favorite book series of all time。 The whole story - literally brilliant。 This was quite possibly the best plot I've ever seen, with it's mystery and suspense and sadness。 Lemony Snicket's author mind is otherworldly。 。。。more
